A kid-friendly and practical Iftar menu for the 11th day of Ramadan. Tomato soup with vermicelli, baked chicken pasta with béchamel, and mosaic cake recipes are here.
Tomato Soup with Vermicelli (Smooth & Mild)
Method: Melt butter, sauté 1 tbsp flour, and add 2 grated tomatoes. Cook for 4 mins, then add 4 cups of water. Once boiling, add 1/2 cup vermicelli. When the vermicelli is soft, pour in 1 cup of milk and season. Blend for a smoother texture for toddlers.
Baked Chicken Pasta with Béchamel
Method: Boil pasta until al dente. Sauté diced chicken breast. Mix pasta and chicken in a tray. Pour over a béchamel sauce (butter, flour, and milk). Top with grated cheddar and bake at 190°C for 20 mins until golden brown.
Mosaic Cake (No-Bake Dessert)
Method: Break 2 packs of biscuits into large pieces. Mix milk, cocoa, sugar, and melted butter. Combine with biscuits. Roll into a log using cling film and refrigerate for 2 hours. Slice and serve.
