Flatbread is an important type of bread in our culture and country. It has been enriched with various flavors in Anatolia for centuries. Spinach, cheese, and mince can be flavored with various ingredients in your home, or meals can be consumed as "simple" with the tea. The type cooked finely with rolling or roller is called "shebit", and the type opened in thicker sizes is called "flatbread". Both fermented and unfericured, it can be done in a practical way with the materials in your home.
Ingredients
2.5 - 3 cups flour
1 cup milk
1 packet of baking soda
1 tablespoon powdered sugar
1 dessert spoon salt
To cook
1 tablespoon oil
Making of Flatbread
Step 1: Let's pour 1 cup of milk into the bowl where we will knead the dough. If there is no milk at home, you can also use 1 cup of water or 1 cup soda. We recommend the milk for a soft flatbread. Add 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon of salt over the milk and stir in our kneading bowl. Add 2.5 cups of flour and 1 pack of baking powder. This mixture takes 2.5 cups of flour, you can add a little more flour than the consistency. Let's mix it up and start kneading. It's going to be a dough that doesn't stick much to the hand.
Recommendation: You can drip a few drops of lemon and stir it over the flour in a separate bowl if you wish. After kneading the dough that we blend with a small amount of lemon, if you wait 15-20 minutes covered, it will be like fermented.
Step 2: Let's cut our dough into equal sizes. Whether we're in hand or with a rolling pin, let's open the pieces with a slight flour so that it doesn't stick to our hands and the rolling pin.
Trick: The secret of a good dough is the beautiful kneading.
Step 3: Let's lightly grease the pan. Let's leave our dough to bake in our warming pan. Do not fry the dough too much, it will be light pink or it will be hard.
Recommendation: Let's put our cooked flatbreads on top of each other and surround them with a clean cloth when it's hot. So our flatbreads will remain soft.
Enjoy your meal!
