Recipe for Kalburabastı


 

Recipe  for Kalburabastı
The name 'Kalburabasti' is named after the suppression of the upper part of the dough with a sifter or the colander. 'Kalburabasti' is a dessert with sherbet and, indispensable for Ramadan especially.
 
Ingredients for Dough
1 pack of margarine
3 cups flour
1 cup semolina
1 egg
1 packet of baking soda
1 pack of vanilla
2 tablespoons yogurt
2 tablespoons oil
 
Ingredients for Inside
Crushed walnut
 
Ingredients for Sherbet
2 cups powdered sugar
2 cups water
2 tablespoons lemon juice
 
Preparation
Sherbet: Let's make the sherbet first. Add water and sugar into a saucepan. Let's stir occasionally until it boils and add the lemon juice when boiling. Let's boil all the ingredients together for a few more minutes and get it from the stove to cool down.
Recommendation: If you want more sherbet, you can use 3 cups of water and 3 tablespoons of lemon juice for 3 cups of sugar.
 
Dough: Let's mix the margarine and flour at room temperature and bring it to the consistency of sand. Let's mix some yogurt, eggs and oil in a separate bowl. Add semolina, baking soda and vanilla into the dough and add the liquid mixture we prepared in a separate bowl after a little more kneading and make all the ingredients mix well.

  
 
Let's take slightly larger pieces of walnuts from the dough and put the nut in the middle and combine it at the two ends. The part where you close the dough will remain at the bottom when you line it on the tray. You can shape it using a colander or a fork on top. Let's bake for 15-20 minutes until the preheated 180 degree oven is fried.

  
 
When the 'Kalburabasti'  we put out of the oven cooled a little, let's pour the chilled sherbet on top of it.
Recommendation: The dough will be hot, the sherbet will be cold.
Let's wait for him to absorb the sherbet. 
'Kalburabastı' is ready to eat in 30 minutes.
